- Benjamin moved to Maryland from Accomack, Va., where he owned land north of the 150 acres Richard Robinson patented on 5 Apr 1666, on the bay side of the north side of Muddy Creek. on 16 Mar 1670, Banjamin, planter, proved right to 200 acres for transporting himeslf, his wife and 2 children from Accomack to Maryland to settle. On 26 Sep 1674, Benjamin Lawrence of “The Deserts”, Calvert Co., proved his rights to 500 acres of land, “Deserts” was taken up by Benjamin and two others named Nathanial and Samuel Ashcom (who may have been Benjamin’s brothers-in-law, children of John and Winifred Ashcom).
