The source () references many real estate patents, but the Dorsey holding named “Hockley in the Hole” was received by Edward Dorsey sometime before 1658. It was 400 acres in Ann Arundell Co. on the south side of the Severn River near a branch of the Broad Creek. (Note that most land grants in Ann Arundell were recorded in 1706 after a fire destroyed all records. Thus original records are gone.) [1] |
