- St. Margaret of Scotland (canonized in 1250)
Notes from the University of Hull, UK: Canonized in 1250 and her feast day is Nov. 16. In 1057 she arrived at the English court of Edward the Confessor. Ten years later she was is exile after William defeated Harold at the Battle of Hastings. She fled to Scotland where she married against her wishes to King Malcolm to whom she bore 6 sons and 2 daughters. Her unlearned and boorish husband became more graceful and Christian under her graceful influence.
Her remains were taken to Escorial, Spain and her head to Douai, France. [2]
